Moran State Park and Orcas Island offer lots of opportunity for adventure – both by land and by sea.  That said, there’s a sweet spot in between the mountain and the sound which you shouldn’t overlook:  Cascade Lake!  Cascade Lake on Orcas Island is just around the corner from our Washington State Glamping Sites and is an easy way to get out on the water without launching a full scale high seas adventure into the Salish Sea.

Fishing

Cascade Lake is stocked annually so you’ll stand a good chance at more catching than fishing.  In addition to a rod and reel, you’ll need a Washington State Fishing License.  Be sure to check out our Orcas Island fishing blog post here to learn more.

Swimming

There’s nothing better than taking a dip in the lake on a nice summer day!  Cascade Lake offers a fun beach area complete with nearby washrooms and picnic tables.  There’s also a concession stand near the beach just in case you work up an appetite for some ice cream after having all of that fun in the sun.

Paddling + Pedaling

No boat?  No worries.  There’s a boat rental concession on the lake that’ll get you out on the water with a rowboat, canoe, paddleboat or paddleboard.  Check ‘em out here.

While there are still plenty of spots available throughout the summer, our Washington State Glamping sites are booking up fast so we suggest that you have a look at our rates and availability right away if you’re interested in glamping with us this season.
