Family-Favorite Orcas Island Events:  The Eastsound Fly-In & Antique Car Show!

Of the annual Orcas Island events, the annual Eastsound Fly-in is a ‘must see’ for families. Plan to attend the 2017 edition August 4th – August 6th! Among the almost 150 aircraft from all over the country, you’ll enjoy old-fashioned airplanes, seaplanes (our favorite!) and some jaw-dropping flying demonstrations. You may even get to see some ‘warbirds’ and an ‘experimental’ aircraft or two.

Feeling grounded?

The Orcas Road Classics car club will host their annual car show in conjunction with the Fly-In. You can enter the car show by donating either $10 or food to the local Food Bank.  Go ahead and donate both to help the community.

Most important: start your day with a pancake breakfast! The Orcas Fire Hall will host a pancake breakfast on the 5th and 6th from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Trust us, this is a top-notch breakfast option and a great way to enjoy a favorite breakfast tradition.

Interested in a wilderness escape?

If you’d rather avoid the crowds associated with Orcas Island events, spend the day relaxing at one of our Washington State glamping sites in Moran State Park. Glamping in the San Juans is a great way to immerse yourself in all of the natural beauty that these isles offer. Plus, they’re tucked into an evergreen canopy so you’ll have it made in the shade on hot summer days.

If you’d like to book your san juan island glamping escape, check our rates and availability right away. Summer is filling up quick, but we still have some great opportunities for glamping in September.
