We setup cedar platforms with canvas tents on walk-in Moran State Park campsites.

You take it from there.

Orcas Island 4th of July festivities are right around the corner! In fact, all of the San Juan Islands are gearing-up for their favorite summer celebration. There’s nothing quite like days full of fun activities in a small town to help ring in an authentic and ‘retro’ Orcas island 4th of July. From fireworks to 5k races, you’re sure to find the perfect way to join the festivities.

Fireworks on July 3rd?!

That’s right, we take the 4th of July very seriously here on Orcas Island. So serious, that we start the party early! Head over to Deer Harbor Marina on July 3rd for some music, and an awesome fireworks display. Tunes start at 7pm and the first firework blasts-off at dusk.

Orcas Island 4th of July Run

Rise and shine early on the morning of the 4th, and head over to the Funhouse Fun Run. This 5k race begins promptly at 9am July 4th on the Village Green, and loops around Eastsound. Early registration is encouraged, and there is a $35 entrance fee. Walk or run at your own pace in your wackiest red, white and blue outfit while enjoying the beautiful scenery.

Got kiddos? There’s a 1k run for youngsters who want to participate, too!

Orcas Island 4th of July Fireworks

After boosting your heart rate, you’ll be ready for yet another great firework show! Eastsound sets off its first firecracker around 10pm on the night of July 4th. Grab a blanket, and some chairs, and head over to Waterfront Park in Eastsound Village to enjoy some music before the main show. You’ll be perfectly positioned to watch the night sky light up above the sound as the festivities get underway.

Orcas Island 4th of July Parade – on the 7th!

Even though the fireworks are over, the Orcas Island 4th of July party keeps going a few days later with a parade! Head back to the Village Green in Eastsound on July 7th to enjoy a historical Independence Day!

The Orcas Island Historical Museum offers up a fun day of activities annually. Start the day at 10am with a delicious slice of pie from the Pie Booth. Want more food? You’ve got it! The food keeps coming with a hot dog booth and beer garden offered later in the day. Head right next door and check out all the fun local goods being sold at the Farmer’s Market from 10am – 3pm.

Take a breather

With all of those options, you’re sure to find your favorite way to celebrate America’s Independence Day on an Orcas Island 4th of July getaway!

Alas, after all of that music, food, and fireworks, you’ll need to relax. Our glamping tents are the perfect solution! Our fully-outfitted canvas glamping tents are located right in the heart of Moran State Park. They’re the perfect home base for all of your Orcas Island adventures!
